I Think I Know What's Wrong With Me

posted Thursday, 22 February 2007
I think I finally figured out what's wrong with me. My soul has been dislocated. Forcibly relocated.
    Huh?
No, really, it makes sense. I read an article in a new-agey sort of publication and came across this therapist's theory about souls, and I think she might be on to something, so stay with me here. (You may recall I've had issues regarding my soul before.)
According to her, she sees patients that seem empty, who explain that they feel like they've lost their souls along with their zest for life. She says that an impact or trauma can cause the soul to leave the body, and the resulting fear or contraction doesn't allow it back in. After she determines this to be the case and goes through some "cognitive dialogue" with the person, the soul is free to return to the body and then he or she can heal more rapidly, whether they suffer from depression or some other kind of illness.
In a nutshell, the person needs to acknowledge that they are now safe and then ask their soul to return to their body. After all, "it is essential that the soul infuse the entire physical body and radiate beyond the boundaries of the body in order for the patient to be healthy and open to healing . . ."
So that's my problem--my soul has been dislocated by all the shit I've gone through in the past couple of years and I need to let it know it's OK to come back home. Do you think it'll listen to me?

Crazy-assed soul theory dreamed up by Dr. Ann Wilkinson, PTMS, PhD. Aw, that's kind of harsh, isn't it? It could be true for all I know. So I mean "crazy-assed" in the most compassionate way possible.

i read something similar. but it was more about shamans. it said that every beeing has more parts of a soul. about seven or nine i think. and they all have to be "together". if not no therapist would work, and no medicine. and everything just comes on the wrong way.

i am reading a book about positive thinking at the moment. and of course i see that these are all psychological tricks. i have to switch my head off to make them work :) and that's the hard job :) " good news are on the way :)

"Well, a fake Jamaican took every last dime with that scam It was worth it just to learn from sleight-of-hand Bad news comes don't you worry even when it lands Good news will work its way to all them plans We both got fired on the exactly the same day Well we'll float on good news is on the way"

just wanted to check in to see how lil mjrc is doing... and come to this post. oh gosh, i know how it feels to have the soul dislocated... maybe that doctor is onto something. im pretty good at negative thinking, however... in a strange way i believe that in order to get better, you have to remain with sometype of hope and positivity to get there. seems we are always struggling, we all have so much hurt inside of us and keep it so locked up. we gotta just let go. we really do, sometimes i feel if i dont let out whats inside me, it will destroy me.

and now im rambelling... but i know you somehow understand ;)

Hmmmm... you know that makes a lot of sense. The soul is an integral part of being human and can see how they can get separated. I believe my soul has left and returned to my body many times over the past few years.

"Crazy-assed soul theory dreamed up by Dr. Ann Wilkinson, PTMS, PhD."

I'm so glad you ended with that! I've never trusted anyone who told me they knew what was wrong with my soul.

wow, i don't know what to say. you all are so supportive and kind. i know positive thinking helps, it's just hard to do sometimes.

and yes, shane, you're right, no one can tell you what's wrong with your soul, although they can perhaps give a little insight from time to time. that's probably the best anyone can do for anyone else. i'm not sure there are any real answers.

"Here, Soully-Soul! Hee-eere Soully-Soul! I have some lovely Tapes 'n' Tapes for you! Good Soul! C'mon, in you go! That's it!!"

Sorry, I don't mean to trivialize things. I can empathize with the emptiness...

Here's wishing you calm and mindfulness!

it's ok to laugh--in fact it's good to laugh--might even make my soul more willing to come back home. ;-)
