Lately my family has been enjoying playing Clue, the boardgame. You remember that one, right? Colonel Mustard in the Conservatory with the candlestick? It's a game that we can all play together and most everyone has a fighting chance to win.
We've been trying to think of some other fun games to play, and we remembered the game Masterpiece, which has to do with an art auction and a mystery and you use really large denominations of money. Seeing as we have fond memories of it, we thought the kids would like it, too. And since we don't have it, we thought, Hey, let's see if we can find it on Ebay. Sure enough, there was one going for 99¢--and no bids! What a bargain!
Well, what do you know--we won it. So it finally arrived, only the box seemed rather thin. In fact, it didn't look like the game was even in a box. I thought, well, that's odd, but maybe the person was missing the box and just put all the game pieces in with the game board. My husband thought the same thing when he saw it, but when we opened it, we were like, What the fuck--where's the rest of the game? It was just the board, nothing else!
He started to get mad, and I did too, only then we thought maybe we should check the particulars of the auction before we got too upset, you know, just in case we missed some crucial piece of information. Sure enough, it said quite clearly--Board Only. Couldn't have been more plainly stated. Whoops! Now we have a lovely game board but no game--anyone interested?
