Voyager One

posted Thursday, 17 April 2008

Voyager One is taking me away and I am most definitely a willing passenger. I love the thick, fuzzy synths and the trippy, swirling electronic clouds of sound and the smooth vocals and the downtempo beats of the drums. They couldn't have a better name for the feeling their music evokes.

They're essentially a two-piece band out of Seattle, although when they play live they add three more members. Afterhours in the Afterlife was released March 25th and it's their fifth full-length. It's a really nice blend of neo-psychedelic, semi-shoegaze nervous energy, mixed up with electrobeats--how's that for a description?

I suggest you turn it up really loud.
