There's only one thing to say today: VOTE! Vote because it's your right and it's your duty. Vote as if your life depends on it.
If you have any questions or concerns about voting, you can go to the League of Women Voters' website, vote411.org, and see what they have to say. Or you can call this toll-free number: 1-866-MYVOTE1 (1-866-698-6831). I tried it and it gave me correct information about my polling place and the phone number to my local board of elections.
The world is watching the U.S. today, let's not blow it.

I like that you included that toll-free number. Your blog is a service to
Americankind!
Hear, hear! I am with you all the way, Marcy. I can't put on a public
board the thoughts I have had about W. Homeland Security would come and
get me in 5 min. I am on pins and needles, hoping for the BIG change. I
admire how much you have worked for that change--I have contributed, but
not as actively as you. Thank goodness, a battleground state that makes so
much difference to the outcome has YOU there!
Marcy: I hope the ticker is treating you well. Gave me a bit of a scare a
few days ago, you did. Wish you were in Harlem. You'd be a most welcomed
guest at my election party!
I'm with Linda, both about all the things I can't write about W. etc and in
my deep admiration for all you're doing to help out.
Looking very, very good.
oh ladies and chris--thank you so much for all your encouragement! we did
it together. even those of us who did it reluctantly! ;-) i wish i'd had
the energy to party last night but i pretty much fell asleep watching the
returns and woke up at 11:00 to hear the announcement. it took me a few
moments to take it in and then i started crying. i cried for about an hour
and a half! my eyes are so puffy this morning that i look like i've been
beat up or something! i feel like i've been through some sort of catharsis.
i think my reaction may be a microcosm for the world--across the universe
we are celebrating the end of an era and the relief is profound.
