Tuesday Is My Favorite Day of the Week

posted Tuesday, 22 July 2008

Tuesday is my favorite day of the week. Why? Because it's contrast podcast day, of course!

This week's theme is "Days of the Week," chosen by yours truly. It's not a very complicated idea but I thought it might be fruitful. And it was. Check it out here. Next week's theme is "Religion" and that should be interesting. Lots of different way to go there!

I picked this song pretty much because it was called "Tuesday," but it turns out to be a rather good track. Mark Geary is from Ireland and based on this one beautiful song I decided to delve a little further into his work. I'm liking what I hear. Yet another benefit of being a part of the contrast podcast--the accidental discovery of new music that you otherwise might never have stumbled upon.

Mark Geary--"Tuesday" mp3 off Opium (buy)

Mark Geary--"Away" mp3 off Opium

Funny story. When I was in high school, my friend Heather and I used to come up to each other in the hallways and whisper "opium" into each other's ears in a really low and drawn out back-of-the-throat growl. It was strange (ya think?) but it made us laugh. Good times.

On a totally unrelated note, did that illustration make any sense yesterday? The red rock is supposed to represent me surrounded by all my friends who accept me just the way I am (read: weird). I'm not sure that was very clear!
