"Time" for the Contrast Podcast
Yep, you guessed it, the theme for this week's contrast podcast is "Time." Pretty simple subject but sure to produce a wonderful mix of tunes. My pick is a funny yet strangely sexy track by Flight of the Conchords called "Business Time." I believe Jemaine is channeling Barry White.

I love HBO's flight of the concords, but my wife does not get it! I love
the first scenes when their manager has band meetings and takes roll in
that cure NZ accent and then comes up with a great plan to get them exposed
to the US!
omg, i love those band meetings. murray is a hoot. he's just about the most
clueless person on the planet. i love their friend dave, too. i find i have
to watch the episodes a couple of times to get all the jokes, they fly by
so fast. maybe your wife just needs to watch it again! : )

i think this is going to split down the middle, with the newlymarrieds
expressing disbelief and fear and the oldermarrieds (i said that
diplomatically, didn't i?) finding it quite funny because so much of it
rings true. : )

it's my favorite show at the moment. i wish they'd made more episodes. i
can't wait for the new season. did you see the one where jemaine appeared
as all those different incarnations of david bowie? i love him!
I'm not sure if I liked the video more or less than the song itself, but I
definitely want to see the show now! What a riot. It's funny, too, that
this freaks out the newlyweds. Why, I remember back when my (future) wife
and I first met, we used to... um... I can't think of it at the moment...

i know, i have a vague recollection of something going on . . . ;-) you
should def. watch the show. i wonder if it's out on dvd yet?
Season 1 comes out November 6.... Oh, yeah... it's FOTC time...
I loved the FotC song!! I don't get HBO so I don't watch the show, but
this was HILARIOUS!

Just wanted to add my thanks for highlighting the FotC song/video. Mrs.
Mentok loves it too so we've enjoyed making many gags about it: "Ooh, baby,
are those your black socks"; "Yeah, you know it. Is that your team-building
conference t-shirt?" (she actually has one).
