Wow, I can't believe that I've reached the three-year anniversary of my blog. Three years!
I'm not going to get all sentimental on you, although I will say that I still enjoy doing this as much as I ever have. I'm sort of surprised by that, but then again not really.
There's the music, first and foremost there's the music. But I've also come to rely on my community of blogging friends as people who will listen when I let off steam, share my frustrations and sorrows and basically chronicle the ups and downs of my days. Thank you all for joining me here. It wouldn't make any sense to do it without you!
So let's celebrate. I just made a kick-ass mix-tape, if I do say so myself. I call it the "cheer mix." I've thrown up a few individual mp3s so it gets picked up by Hype, etc. The astute among you will note that I've posted most of these songs before, but I'm finding this particular combination extremely enjoyable.
Here's the whole thing in a zip file that you can download just like a regular song: Cheer Mix zip. Playlist is as follows:
1. "Absolution" by Mojo Nation
2. "Asthmatic" by Windmill
3. "One Day Like This" by Elbow
4. "Keep a Secret" by Whitest Boy Alive
5. "Churches Under the Stairs" by Brendan Canning
6. "Golden Age" by TV on the Radio
7. "Night Vision Binoculars" mp3 by Passenger off Wicked Man's Rest (buy)
8. "Sole Fisherman (Featuring Merz)" by Dive Index
9. "Better Things" by South
10. "Fear" by Fred
11. "The Fear (Christian Vorbau Remix)" by Lily Allen
12. "Full Metal Jacket" by Antiqcool
13. "Sadness Soot" mp3 by Grant-Lee Philips off Mobilize (buy)
14. "Already Late" by Antiqcool
15. "A Few Kind Words" by Meursault
16. "Fag Hag" mp3 by Lily Allen off The Fear Single (buy)
17. "Big Day" by Tahiti 80
18. "Cello Song (Nick Drake Cover)" mp3 by The Books and Jose Gonzales off Dark Was the Night (buy--this is a 2-disc compilation to benefit the Red Hot Organization, which works to raise funds and awareness about HIV/AIDS.) **Link removed by request of the Web Sheriff** Yowza, haven't gotten one of those in a long time. The scary part was that it was in my email's Spam folder! Thank god I looked at it instead of just deleting it. Ooops, looks like I should read my own comments in a more timely manner as well!
19. "On Ho!" by Andrew Bird
p.s. It fits very nicely onto one CD.
Happy anniversary! Congrats! I know I thank you for sharing all of your
emotions and music these last few years. It has been a pleasure and you
have become a good friend. :-)
I look forward to many more years reading and listening...
Marcy, you were an early inspiration to me....and for that alone I'll
always be grateful for LIYI.
Heyyyy Marcy, congrats! I think yours was maybe the second or third music
blog I ever came across and you've been an inspiration to me for about half
of your three years I reckon. Keep doing what you're doing, we all love
checking out your words and tunes.
Happy 3 years! Look at how much you've shared in that time. Such great
music and an insight into your head. I always start my day reading Lost in
Your Inbox. Here's to 4 years!
Congratulations! Keep the music coming!

mjrc, thank YOU for writing a great blog for three years! It's great to
read your blog and even better to know you a bit in person. Am looking
forward to listening to your mix all the way to CA, and am relieved to see
we did not use the same Elbow track that I have picked out for my upcoming
mix! (of course, that particular track is one of the best on their disc,
but that's for another post...)
