Think of Me As Your Older (Not Necessarily Wiser) Sister
In his Toadcast of Sept. 15th (highly recommended, btw), our dear toadster made mention of me and my blog. He had some very lovely and kind things to say, and I was touched by his comments.
One thing he mentioned was that I'm not your typical blogger, in that I'm a woman and I'm not 22 years old. And he's right, as it's no secret that the majority of mp3 music blogs are written by guys, most of them pretty young. There are some older fellows (sorry, dudes), but even most of them are younger than I am. It got me to thinking that I'm sort of like the older (not necessarily wiser) sister to a lot of my blogger friends, which is kind of a fun position to be in.
He also said I was "wholesome," which made me laugh, as it's an image that I've somehow managed to maintain most of my life to varying degrees and one which has helped me get away with a lot of shit over the years. You see, truth be told, I'm not really all that wholesome and I have been known to lead a soul or two astray. But you knew that already, didn't you?

Older sister! Good lord Marcy, you're not that bloody old. You're just
not a bloke in jeans, trainers and a hip t-shirt. That's enough to be a
major shock in the world of indie music blogs!
Oh and, er, 'wiser'? Oh most definitely, Marcy. ;-)
hey, i didn't say i was old enough to be your mother, for chrissakes! ;-)
but thank you for your encouraging words. about the wiser thing, i think
i'm right about that, too. let's put it this way, i'm old enough that i
should be wiser than i am about certain things. of course, if you're
suggesting that i'm a wise ass, well, then you may be right.
We knew that. But the souls keep coming back! ;)

aw colin, you're so easy to please . . . ;-) and thanks so much for coming
back. you would be surprised how much it means to me that so many people
do.
I have the sneakiest suspicion that FiL and I have a few years on Colin. I
know I have a few weeks on FiL and and therefore the oldie of the bunch!
Thank you for the mention - years (and months, and weeks, and so on) fall
into the background when you're all just in the gang anyway.
