Wow. If the rest of the new Dandy Warhols album sounds as fabulous as this song, we are in for a rollicking new record. As I recall, their last offering, Odditorium or Warlords of Mars, didn't get such a warm response. My hopes are high for Earth to The Dandy Warhols, though.
I have a real soft spot for them. In fact, the very first song I submitted to the contrast podcast was "Bohemian Like You, which, along with "We Used to Be Friends" would probably make a top-100 song list of mine any day.
So what am I raving about in this case? "The World The People Together (Come On)"--Even the title is fantastic and alive. The message of the song is pretty simple and familiar--the love that you give is exactly the love that you get. The music is a glorious swirling melting pot of a churning bassline, bells, other-worldly-sounding vocals, hand-claps--the people are coming together and celebrating something great. Let's hope whatever it is includes the rest of the album!

Great blog guys!
I didn't even know that the Dandys had a new one coming out! Thirteen Tales
is still one of my favorite singalong albums ever. Thanks for the heads up.
