Enough with the broken appliances already! I mean, recently I endured a couple of days without hot water and I've been surviving without my oven working properly and my microwave being on the fritz for weeks (apparently I don't cook enough to be overly bothered by that). But now my clothes dryer has died and that was the last straw. I have to get that fixed or I'll become completely overwhelmed with dirty laundry and never catch up.
And yeah, I know I could go green and hang my clothes outside to dry, but let's be realistic here. I'm way too lazy to do that on a regular basis and besides, I hate how they feel all stiff when they air dry. So I called Sears right away and the guy is coming out tomorrow and hopefully things will stop breaking and my life will return to the semi-normal half-broken state it was in before this latest crisis!
The Dogs--"Everything Is Broken" mp3 off The Dogs (buy) These guys are from Chicago and they're trying to get the word out about their lo-fi indie/folk/garage music, so check them out.
The New Up--"Broken Machine" mp3 off Broken Machine (buy) This band is from San Francisco and they've got a little bit of a psychedelic/dreamy pop thing going on, including a flute player, which I think is most cool.
You ever find that your shampoo/deodorant/makeup/moisturiser/toothpaste/any
other bathroom product all run out at the same time, meaning a trip to the
supermarket or chemist that ends up costing you a whole pile of money? Same
thing seems to be happening with your appliances!
lol--i suppose it's just a difference in scale! if we have to replace any
of these items then at least i'll be doing my part to help the economy,
right? ;-)
yep, I'm feeling your pain....the hole in my bathroom ceiling is still not
fixed! looks like we're going to have to have yet another uncomfortable
exchange with the upstairs neighbors... not to mention that now that i've
finally got a part time job i've come down with a headcold which i'm sure
is swineflu :-p... hang in there, music heals xx
ooh and i do have that andrew bird song, thanks!! :)
oh dear. it's one thing to have a household repair issue but when you have
to confront someone else about it, it gets doubly difficult to deal with!
good luck. about that swine flu, the other day i had a sort of sore throat
and felt a little sick to my stomach and i, too, was sure i was coming down
with it! we're all so susceptible to suggestion, aren't we? and congrats on
the job!
When it rains it pours, huh?
fingers crossed that your PC/laptop holds up......nowt worse than that
nowadays.
