The Test Results Are In

posted Thursday, 13 November 2008

I finally got the test results from when I was having my "heart issues" and the good news is that everything is fine. They didn't see anything out of the ordinary and therefore I have a clean bill of health unless and until it happens again, and then I should come back in.

This is a relief, because by the time I got in to the doctor's office to go over the results I had worked myself into having anything and everything from high cholesterol to lyme disease to an undiagnosed thyroid disorder.

I only have one peeve about the whole thing and I may be way off base here, but they never called me to let me know the results were in. I had to call them and then they wouldn't tell me anything over the phone so I had to go in and see the doctor to find out what was going on. Now, I don't have any problem having the doctor go over things with me--I prefer it, actually--but what if I'd never called and there WAS something significant in the findings? How long would they have let me wait?

I'm not asking them to babysit me, but what if I were old or feeble-minded and I'd forgotten about them? What then???

Mux Mool & Big Quarters--"Test (Mux Mool Remix)" mp3 off Fall in Love EP (buy)

Sickboy--"100% Pure Nothing" mp3 off Vanity & Velocity EP (buy)

David Vandervelde--"I Will Be Fine" mp3 off Waiting for the Sunrise (buy)

Fun facts: The fastest heart rate the Holter monitor recorded was 114, which must have been while I was at work. The slowest was 46, which was when I was sleeping. I had no idea it could beat that slow!

doctors make me feel sick... however i can tell you (and i hope this is true) that had you had a positive result of any sort you would have several nurses and assistants calling you to get in again. the normal results are sometimes left "on the side". This is of course unacceptable regardless, but from personal experience positive results are jumped on. We call or send letters about all of them (letters for normal results) but some clinics are just too busy or too undermanned. Gotta love our American Medical System.

Well, I had some long comment, but Vista decided to reboot my computer as I typed, so I lost it! AAACK!

Anyway, I'm happy to hear this news! Did they offer any explanation for your symptoms? Stress or something?

They make you come back in so they can charge you for a visit, even if there is nothing wrong with you. I bet. Glad to hear you're all good.

juan--well, i certainly hope you're right that they'd call if they had positive results. i'm kinda hoping obama can do something about this . . . ;-)

nat--i hate when that happens. it never comes out the same when you try to write it again. *sigh* about the cause, they didn't actually give me much of a reason, just watch my coffee/chocolate intake, maybe it's my anti-depressant--other than that, not much to go on.

g8--thank you for the good wishes and unfortunately, i think you're right about the extra visit! but oh well, what are you going to do?

all mp3s are for sampling purposes only. you like it? you buy it. you want me to take it down? let me know. and for the uninitiated, if you wish to listen to a song, click on the little blue arrows and they will stream. thanks, your host and music lover, mjrc.
