Temporary Mess

posted Sunday, 8 July 2007

Hi everyone. I understand you may be experiencing problems downloading/listening to posted songs at the moment. I apologize for the inconvenience. I'm having some bandwidth issues--what else is new?--but they should be resolved tomorrow.

In the meantime, here are a couple of songs that might help you cope. The first is by Zookeeper, who is from Austin. When you listen to this, simply invert the title so that it's referring to my mess, not yours, which makes it pretty appropriate for today, don't you think?

Zookeeper--"I Live in the Mess You Are" mp3 off Zookeeper (buy)

Then there's this track by Northampton, Massachusetts-based band Winterpills. Simply substitute "Bandwidth" for "Arm" and it's relevant, too!

Winterpills--"Broken Arm" mp3 off The Light Divides (buy)

I have a good post all set to go for tomorrow, so until then, I bid you adieu.

You keep posting music that I barely recognize and then turns into one of these "what the heck was I listening to before this"

I see a lot of Elliot Smith in the male vocals for Winterpills, but wonderful harmonizing with the female vocals adds an extra layer that kicks @$$

i'm often astounded at the amount of music there is out there that i'm yet to know about, so i know exactly what you mean. i'm really enjoying the harmonies in this one, too, but i like the frenetic feeling in the zookeeper song, too. : )

all mp3s are for sampling purposes only. you like it? you buy it. you want me to take it down? let me know. and for the uninitiated, if you wish to listen to a song, click on the little blue arrows and they will stream. thanks, your host and music lover, mjrc.
