Teddybears

posted Monday, 19 February 2007
Yesterday I was feeling a bit down and my friend FiL suggested I listen to some "rampoppy" music to lift my spirits. Well, I've been meaning to put some Teddybears up for a while now, so this seems like the perfect moment.
If you haven't heard these guys, well, I think you'll be pleasantly motivated by their sound. Don't let the name fool you--they're not cuddly and sweet by any means. They're a whole lotta fun and energy and the word "rampoppy" is as good as any to describe their funked-up songs. They're from Stockholm and have also recorded under the name Teddybears STHLM. Without further ado, I give you:
Teddybears--"Cobrastyle" mp3 off Soft Machine (buy)
Teddybears--"Different Sound (Featuring Malte)" mp3 off Soft Machine
Teddybears STHLM--"Hey Boy" mp3 off Fresh (buy)
And by special request, here's the video of "Punkrocker (Feat. Iggy Pop)". Enjoy!

Sounds like music for a warm summer night - a welcome break from the 12 degrees of this morning!

boy, you got that right! they have another song called "yours to keep" and it's all about riding around with the top down. it's out there on the hype machine and worth grabbing. actually, i think the whole cd is worth having. keep warm!

Yes Armadillo FiL couldn't have suggested a better prescription for the low down blues than the music of the Teddybears.

In fact I may just have to pop them in later too right after the happy dust wears off from these picks. ;-)

we would all do well to listen to our friend fil's musical (and otherwise) suggestions when it comes to how to beat the blues. : )

Glad the rampoppy prescription seems to be helping! And that was a great choice of musical pharmaceuticals...

Just for the record, I do get the blues too. Actually, in my case they're visits from the black dog. Then it's a case of "physician, heal thyself!!"

fil--i know you get them too. i remember you mentioning the black dog around the time change, if i'm not mistaken. the wounded healer gives the best advice, me thinks. : )

all mp3s are for sampling purposes only. you like it? you buy it. you want me to take it down? let me know. and for the uninitiated, if you wish to listen to a song, click on the little blue arrows and they will stream. thanks, your host and music lover, mjrc.
