It was the strangest thing. You all know how I feel about grocery shopping. Well, the other day I was shopping but not at my usual store. I was going about my business, in my own little world, when it occured to me I knew the song that was playing over the loudspeakers. It was Gomez--Gomez, I tell you--and it was a great song, too: "Cry on Demand" off How We Operate. Next song that came on was Death Cab For Cutie's "Crooked Teeth" off Plans. I was stunned, but in a good way. I took it as a sign that I should shop there more often!
The Devlins --"Strangest Things" mp3 off Consent (buy)
Goodness me - this sounds like a store that I need to frequent as well!
But, was it a one off? And did they go back to playing REO Speedwagon,
Tiffany and James Blunt after you left? I'll never forget the time I was in
a supermarket and heard "Swamp Thing" by The Chameleons being played over
the in-store system... it took me about 45 seconds to realise... and then I
just freaked out down by the cat food section...
