These three songs should give you what you need, provided what you need is to forget, move on, for your fear to disappear or to bury old mistakes.
Barzin--"Stayed Too Long in This Place" mp3 off Notes to An Absent Lover (buy) Barzin writes some of the sweetest somber music around. He has a beautiful way of depicting the sense of loss and the emptiness of spirit that come at the end of a relationship. "There's so much that I like / I'd like to forget and leave behind / You get so tired staying with the dead / night after night" Notes to An Absent Lover comes out April 21st.
The Milk and Honey Band--"Disappear" mp3 off Dog Eared Moonlight (buy) This song feels right the very first time you hear it and then when you pay attention to the words, it's even better. "Why don't you tell me what it could feel like / How can you show me what it could feel like / . . . to walk without this fear, one step behind / to disappear . . . " Comes out April 21st.
City Breathing--"A Place to Bury Old Mistakes" mp3 off My Apple IIe Is Singing Sad Songs To Me EP (buy) Oh, if only there was a place where you could actually bury all those old mistakes that haunt you. You could play this song while you did it and it would make life so much less difficult, don't you think?
I really like them all too, most especially the first and third. And Dog
Eared Moonlight is a wonderful title.
you're so welcome. i'm glad you like them. i love the image of dog-eared
moonlight, too, it's so forlorn. and good point about burying old mistakes.
: )
Wow, love these tunes and they fit so appropriately to my current
situation. There are a ton of things that I need to forget and move away
from. I think it is important to not focus on the past too much (which
unfortunately I do a lot) but rather to live in the here and now. However,
it is also good to learn from your past mistakes which is what I think
greer was saying above. I just wish I could do these things and break free
of the depression that plagues me everyday. I'm slowly learning to try my
best to live in the here and now but it is hard to not focus on the past.
It hurts so much but I still do it.....
merz--i was hoping you'd like these! what i like about them is that they
acknowledge what's so hard to let go of and change but they're not so
morose that they drag you back down. because as you say, living in the here
and now is so important, even for people who aren't depressed, but
especially for those of us who are!
Love the name of The Milk and Honey Band and the album cover
and....wait....
