PHILLY CONNECTION

Sign of the Times

I live way out in the country. Well, actually I live about 20 minutes out in the country, but there are lots of farms around us. On my way home there is one in particular with a large white barn very close to the road. During election season, the people who live there like to hang huge political banners and statements on the broadside of this barn, which I think is really cool even though nearly all of them are contrary to whom and what I would be in favor of.

So, since it's getting close to that time of year, I've decided it would be fun to place bets on when the first sign goes up. My guess is sometime soon after the political conventions take place, say around Labor Day. Frankly I'm a little surprised they haven't put up one yet, as it seems the campaigns have been running forEVer already, but maybe they're holding off for a specific reason.

There's no point in betting on which candidate they'll support, however, as that is a sure thing. (I'll give you one hint: it's not Obama.)

Your hint still doesn't rule out that 15% of Democrats who are bitter disgruntled Hillary supporters, but I know who you mean anyway.

What I continue to not understand is how a Democrat who would support Hillary could vote for McCain rather than Obama. I would put Hillary even farther to the left than Obama, so a vote for McCain would seem to be voting against their own ideals.

I personally was hoping to see lots of I <HEART> Huckabee bumper stickers this fall! ;)

it makes absolutely NO sense that a hillary supporter would vote for mccain--not based on issues, at any rate. who knows what will happen this fall. i just saw mccain say that he is an internet illiterate. now, in this day and age do we really want a president who can't even use a freaking computer?? all other important considerations aside, that would be a deal breaker for me!

The only way I would vote for McCain is if here were an avid reader of "Lost In Your Inbox"; that would really say something about his character, I think. :)
