Short But Sweet

posted Tuesday, 9 October 2007

Today's contrast podcast theme is "Short Songs" (download/listen here). It was recommended by multiple people, myself included. The song I submitted is the 1:46 version of "Mr. Blue" by Catherine Feeny. I've posted it before, but it's such a pleasure that I'm putting it up again.

This podcast has more contributors than I've ever seen, so you should definitely check it out to hear some folks that haven't been on for a really long time, and possibly even some podcast virgins. Hey, that would be a great theme for a podcast--Virgins. Hmmmm.

Next week's podcast will be about "Time," and you can participate, too, provided you have the time, that is. (So sorry, I couldn't resist.)

Catherine Feeny--"Mr. Blue" mp3 off Catherine Feeny (buy--well, I can't find this album anywhere, but you can buy the single here

There's another version of this song that's in the film Running With Scissors, but it's more orchestrated. Then we have the video version, which is slightly different once again. I like the simplest one best.

Podcast virgins...I like it, except I couldn't participate! ;) (nor could you!)

Love your pick, such a lovely song. Thanks for sharing it, marcy!

Hey, I was thinking of your over the weekend, when I was in a hotel gym in Maine. I was quietly enjoying the room to myself, when an older guy came in wearing his iPod. He obviously coveted the treadmill I was using and plopped himself next to it and began to perform his sit-ups and various other exercises, and all the while, he grunted through them. Then he moved to the universal machine next to me and ripped out a very loud pass of gas. I couldn't take it any longer and I left. I saw him hop on that treadmill IMMEDIATELY. Oh, how I thought of your grunter guy at your gym!

Yes, I think I am going to submit for the "Time" theme.

And how funny about the gym, both of you guys have now shared stories on why I don't work out at the gym! :-)
