She Doesn't Get It

posted Sunday, 28 September 2008

The well runs extremely deep when it comes to making fun of Sarah Palin. If the prospect of her being elected weren't so scary, I could enjoy her joke of a candidacy a whole lot more. Sigh.

In the meantime, however, I must share the latest way I've found to send her the message that the thinking women (and men, for that matter) of America don't buy her act and most certainly don't agree with her on a multitude of issues that matter to women--and men.

There's an email circulating that suggests making a donation to Planned Parenthood in her name and then having the acknowledgment sent to McCain campaign headquarters. I think this is freaking brilliant! It's a chance to support one of the most worthwhile organizations in this country and stick it to her at the same time.

Here's the link to Planned Parenthood where you can make a donation. The address of McCain headquarters is: McCain for President, 1235 S. Clark Street, 1st Floor, Arlington, VA 22202. The minimum donation is $5.00, which I think is a small price to pay to send this kind of message.

The Format--"She Doesn't Get It" mp3 off Dog Problems (buy)

More than likely you've seen the cringe-inducing interview she did with Katie Couric by now, but on the off chance you haven't, here is a link to a couple of incredibly embarrassing, stupefying segments. My favorite part is the look on Couric's face as she tries to stifle her disbelief at the crap she's hearing.

And of course, no post on this subject would be complete without the link to the SNL version of the interview. Tina Fey is amazing.

I was just chiming with your first paragraph - I remember a lot of joking around about Quayle (standard joke for a long time afterwards from a number of things was to have something set in the future and someone discussing 'our greatest presidents - Washington, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Quayle...') - it's good to see lots of people 'taking her seriously' and bothering to put the argumentative boot in rather than just to mock.

all mp3s are for sampling purposes only. you like it? you buy it. you want me to take it down? let me know. and for the uninitiated, if you wish to listen to a song, click on the little blue arrows and they will stream. thanks, your host and music lover, mjrc.
