Reminiscing

posted Monday, 13 November 2006
My recent post entitled "Fuck the Time Change" prompted a little jaunt down memory lane. The summer after I was a freshman in college, I got what I considered a dream job: I was going to work at a boys' camp in New Hampshire. Yes, me and who knew just how many fine young men would be spending the warm months together in the shadow of Mt. Washington.
Well, as it turned out, the ratio was pretty favorable toward the few girls on the staff, and we had a merry old time. Merry, indeed, as the camp was called Camp Robin Hood. (Corny, I know.) I met a bunch a really nice guys that summer, including one named Steve, who was extremely handsome. Of course, he knew it, but that didn't matter. In fact it kind of added to his bad-boy appeal. He also rode a motorcycle, which REALLY added to that appeal.
Anyways, we spent 24 hours a day at this camp, and on our one day off a week, we'd go into town and spend the entire day drinking. I vividly recall one afternoon spent in the town of North Conway, where we sat and drank round after round of whatever we could afford, and if anyone so much as mentioned the words "Camp Robin Hood," Steve would shout, "Fuck the Realm!" The we would all raise our glasses and shout in unison, "Fuck the Realm!" It became our rallying cry, and it's stayed with me all these years. Ah, memories, sometimes you are sweet indeed.

Well, folks, it's raining and I'm really bored even though I have a thousand things I should be doing, so I thought you all might enjoy seeing something really gross, aka "world's tightest pair of jeans". Enjoy!

Oh dear, some things are really best left to the imagination, aren't they? I hope you didn't actually witness that yourself...
