I want to apologize to anyone and everyone who's sent me some music to listen to over the past couple of weeks (months?) and who's wondering if I will ever get around to talking about it. I have been incredibly remiss in my listening and evaluating.
In my defense, I get a LOT of music through my inbox. I know some of you can relate. And I really only like to post about music that I've listened to enough to absorb and reflect on, so that puts me behind from the start.
And hey, I realize this has become somewhat of a regular type of post here on the blog, but you don't care, do you? I didn't think so. Enjoy the music and have a great weekend!
It's the lyrics in this tune that pull me in, plus it's a little laid back (I guess the title gives it away) but sometimes I like that. "People take me for cute but I'm a bad poker hand / too many chips in my corner, too many crops on my land." I so get that.

Hellsongs is a Swedish group that takes heavy metal classics and remakes them into acoustic gems. Just listen to this cover of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid." They also do "We're Not Gonna to Take It" by Twisted Sister, "Run to the Hills" by Iron Maiden, and "Symphony of Destruction" by Megadeth, to name a few. Now this is metal I can listen to!

I must be in a mellow mood, because this last track is pretty laid back, too, although a bit bouncier than the first two. The Voluntary Butler Scheme is from Stourbridge, U.K., and this song has a lovely early 70s sound, a throwback to the kinder, gentler years, if you will.

I like all three...but I'm laffin' at the "a bit bouncier" than the first.
LOL. Ya think?
