No Frills Friday
I'm not going to go into much detail about any of these songs. Suffice it to say I like them. I've been working so much these past couple of weeks that I haven't had time to research and investigate the way I'd like to, but you know the story--if I wait to do it properly I'll never get around to it. So here you go.
Dan Black--"HYPNTZ" mp3 off his upcoming 7" HYPNTZ Single A mesmerizing remake of Notorious B.I.G.'s song "Hypnotize." I know absolutely nothing about the original but this song is really cool. This guy is unsigned--wtf?
The Hush Now--"Traditions" mp3 off The Hush Now (buy--this doesn't come out until October) I love, love, love the guitar in this. Bouncy as all get out as they sing, "Sit down and shut up and don't speak coz there's nothing wrong." Love it.
Thomas Bryan Eaton--"Meant to Last" mp3 off Dreams, Demons and Butterflies (buy) This is sort of an interesting combo of Pink Floyd-ish influenced melody (the chorus, mostly) with an ever-so-slight alt-country twinge to the guitars and vocals and lyrics that keep your attention. Yep, it's different.
p.s. I can't believe it's August already. Next thing you know we'll be Christmas shopping!
