My neighbor has the loveliest pool. It's set near the woods, with a very natural design, so that when you're down there you can hear the breeze rustling through the trees, the birds singing, and watch the butterflies cavorting through her many flowers and bushes. It's beautiful.
She's away this week and very generously told me that my family was welcome to use it while she's gone. She is a dear. I really couldn't ask for a nicer neighbor.
Anyway, I was over there yesterday, relaxing after a little swim and watching my youngest play in the water, and I thought there simply couldn't be anything more delightful.
Which leads me to these two songs by the band Summer Hymns. How apropos, no? They're lovely, too, perfect for sitting poolside or floating in the cool, refreshing water.

On their myspace page, they have a live version of Neil Young's "Mr. Soul" up for grabs. I do love that song.
