I need some movement, in more ways than one. Mostly I'm looking for some music to move me, which is kind of pointless, I know, because you can't go looking for something like that to happen, it just does. It hits you over the head and you say, Wow, that's what I've been looking for. Kind of like love.
Anyhoo, I like a couple of things I've heard lately. The new TV on the Radio song "Golden Age" is pretty good. I dig the falsettos and the dance feel it has, although I miss the heavier, more substantial "rock" sound they had on Return to Cookie Mountain. I'll have to hear the rest of the album to make a real judgment about it. I was going to put up the song but I think I'll hold off. Don't want to invite trouble, if you know what I mean. The record comes out 9/23.
I'm also intrigued by Final Fantasy's new songs. Owen Pallett is so talented. The tracks I've heard off his two new EPs are orchestral, crisp and complex and his voice sounds great. But they're not grabbing me by the throat and making me say Holy Crap, I love this. I'll need to hear more of them, as well.

So what to do in the meantime? How about a couple of oldies but goodies? They're not really apropos, but they'll do. Actually, if you tune back in tomorrow, you'll see that they are kind of appropriate, although not in any straightforward way. Oh my god, now I'm not making any sense at all! I think I need to go on a bike ride to clear my head. That's one kind of movement I can do!

Thanks for posting FF's new song, it's great to see Pallett is coming out
with some new sounds. Not sure it lives up to his first albums, but very
good none the less.
you're most welcome. and man, i'd love to see him perform. he's a wonder.
:)
Dearest Marcy, it is indeed fruitless to search for music to move you.
It's like when you need a pair of shoes and go out shopping - you're
guaranteed to comb every shop from here to infinity and find nothing but
frustration...
'Crisp'! A fine word for a musical description. I haven't used that one
in a while.
fil--thank you! and about the shoe analogy, i actually have a better chance
of finding music to move me than a pair of shoes that are comfortable . . .
which is to say, you're quite right!
I love your site. Your playlists are fantastic. Very fitting to what you
set out to soundtrack. I just found The Grand National song today on
another blog whom does a similar thing with the playlists. Based on your
site, I think you'd like it. Some of their posts are wonderful.
