Howdy. Just a few unrelated items today, starting with this: Friday I reviewed Eastern Conference Champions' new release Ameritown, and that same day ladies and gentlemen we are sitting here listening to this recording had an acoustic version mp3 of "The Box" up for grabs, which you can grab here. I'm still trying to figure out what the picture of Michael Bloomberg and Cyndi Lauper has to do with it.
Also related to ECC, there's an excellent interview with lead singer Josh Ostrander over at antimusic.com. You should also watch these two videos, both for "To the Wind." One is quite crazy and a little sad, and the other is the band playing live at Liquid Generation. And now I promise to stop shoving them down your throats.
Mr. Toad's latest podcast was entitled "the chillout tent," and I quite enjoyed it. He's got a track by Lemon Jelly on it and it inspired me post my favorite Lemon Jelly track, which is not only chill but actually teaches you how to relax.

Nat from mini-obs completed a three-day 60-mile walk-a-thon to raise money for breast cancer research, and she's a got a photo-filled recap of her adventure. Way to go, Nat! We're all very proud of you.
Eddie Vedder with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan--"The Long Road" mp3 off Dead Man Walking Soundtrack (buy)
I passed a milestone last week on the old blog, and I still can't quite believe it. To celebrate, I'd love for you to watch this video. It's Alain de Courtenay and TJ Callanta covering The Postal Service's "Such Great Heights," and as my friend Pik pointed out to me when he sent it my way, he sings it soooooooo joyful! These guys are unsigned but are working on an album of original stuff, and if it's anywhere as good as this cover, I'll be very excited to hear it.
Aww, thanks for the mention. I'm going to do it again next year, too,
since it was such an uplifting experience. :-)
