I'm Starting to Look for a Job Right Now, But as Luck Would Have it, This Is One of My Favorite Songs

I'm starting to look for a job, but as luck would have it, this is one of my favorite songs right now. And it is SO totally not something you'd expect from me. It's freaking hip-hop, for pete's sake. That's right, I am enthralled with this track, from start to finish.
I found Busdriver over at you ain't no picasso, someone else who is definitely NOT known for his love of hip hop. What can I say? This is superbly written, it's funny as hell and smart, and the music is as good as the words. And I love his voice. He uses it so well, so precisely.

As long as we're on the subject of songs you wouldn't expect to find here, I find I am compelled to share this one by Willie Nelson. That's right, Willie Nelson. And get this, it's a Fleetwood Mac cover. You must pay close attention to the music on this one. It's a totally different arrangement than the original. In fact, when I heard it I was like, I know this song, what is this song? the words are so familiar . . . holy shit, it's freakin' Fleetwood Mac! That's how completely ol' Willie makes it his very own.

Up until yesterday, I wasn't sure I was going to go, seeing as I have loads and loads to do in order to finish getting ready for Christmas, but I thought to myself, "Self, if you pass this opportunity by, you will kick yourself later." So I'm going. Where am I going? I'm off to see Damien Rice perform at WXPN's free at noon concert. Yep, it's going to be grand. Wish you could come, I really do. I'll try to take some good pictures and share them with you. Promise. Smooch.
