We're going live today on the contrast podcast. Well, not really, but the theme is "Live Songs," so it's kind of like being live. Check it out right here.
This track by Joe Cocker is fan-fucking-tastic. There's no other way to put it. It's from his performance at Woodstock and the energy and excitement (even by the guy introducing him) is palpable.
Joe Cocker--"Feeling' Alright (Live at Woodstock)" mp3
It's funny, but my mother used to hate Joe Cocker. She couldn't stand his stage performance, all the jerking and twisting and carrying on he did. I think he's really cool, naturally, so I suppose it follows that my children will detest him as well! If you're interested, I found a site called Live in Concert that features vintage concert footage of classic rock musicians, including this one of Joe Cocker on his Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour in 1970.
Next week's theme will be "Songs Which Offer Advice," which ought to prove quite fruitful, indeed, at least as far as my music library is concerned.
Just realised I've called my CP post the same thing! Great minds etc...
Haven't listened yet, but I'm sure it's yet another good one.
