Brian Sendrowitz, the lead singer/songwriter from my favorite Brooklyn band, Beat Radio, has started a blog called a cinema of sunshine. He calls it "a blog about being a punk rock dad" and hopes it will serve as a creative journal of sorts, as opposed to focusing solely on the band. Speaking of the band, he's put up the lyrics to "What I Love the Most (demo)," which is a new song he's working on. Plus they have another new song on the band website, "People Are Talking," which will appear on their upcoming EP Safe Inside the Sound. Oh, and here's an interview with him wherein he declares his love of music blogs (among other things). I sure wish they'd get another date to play in Philly. Their show got cancelled because of the weather, and that was way back in February.
This probably is only interesting to me, but my blog host recently started providing me with more and better statistical data about how many hits I get and where they come from. Take a look at this page to see a list of all the countries that visits have originated from so far--it's fascinating (to me, at least!). I mean, someone from Yemen clicked on my blog, and South Africa and Vietnam and Cote D'Ivoire. The world suddenly seems so much smaller.

I recently came across the blog a beautiful revolution via Colin and it's one of the loveliest, most thoughtful and delightfully melancholy places I've visited in a long time, plus it has a wonderful sense of self-deprecating humor. Check out the depressed doodles and postcards i may send sections and you'll see what I mean.
The Charlatans --"My Beautiful Friend" mp3 off Us and Us Only (buy) Well, whaddya know, this comes from Colin as well!
I'll update the contrast podcast info as soon as I get it. Yesterday I was without internet service nearly all day, which, as you can imagine, caused me some consternation. Well, this post should make up for it. Check it out and you'll see what I mean. **UPDATE** Here's the link to this week's edition of the contrast podcast, "Kings and Queens." Next week's theme is "The contrast podcast has introduced me to . . ." and you pick whatever music that is. Better hurry, this one's going to fill up fast.
One last thing. This is currently my favorite song on Andrew Bird's Armchair Apocalypse. Here he is with Martin Dosh performing "Simple X" at Bonnaroo last summer. Man, that Andrew is one skinny dude, isn't he?
We heart Andre! Isn't he something?
he really is. you know, i'd seen the link on your blogroll for ages but
never clicked on it, but he left you a comment not too long ago and i
checked out his profile and found it that way. better late than never, i
guess! : )
Wow, thanks for the beat radio reference. I had never heard of them but
thanks to modern technology I am currently finding out they are pretty
great.
