Yesterday's music was pretty mellow, so I thought I'd keep it in that vein for today. I found the song "Red Rover" by Rosie Thomas whilst searching my library for an upcoming contrast podcast theme. It's gorgeous. She has such a clear, pretty voice, and the male harmony in this track makes for a poignant accompaniment, especially since she's singing about two children, a boy and a girl.

Her last album, These Friends of Mine, came out about a year ago. On it she sings and performs with various other artists, hence the name, including Sufjan Stevens, who sings with her on the track below. There was some crazy story going around last year that she was having his baby, but I'm pretty sure it was all a PR joke. Either that or it's the longest pregnancy on record, coz they never said she ever had it!

p.s. In case you were wondering how I ended up spending the rest of my lost weekend, I pigged out and never even got dressed yesterday!
Sounds like a great weekend and great sounds from your weekend. Love the
simplicity of these tracks. Thanks.
That is basically what I did on Saturday...It was awesome. And what perfect
music to mellow out with. :) Her voice is heavenly.
