Despite the brief snowfall we had the other day, it's officially Spring and that means I'm starting to think about riding my bike again. I'm really looking forward to it. I love being outside and breezing down the country roads, feeling the warmth of the sun and the wind in my hair. Going up the hills isn't such a breeze, but the payoff is definitely worth it.
To keep me going I love to make mixes, which I listen to on my 'pod. I'm starting to gather "motivational" tracks for my rides, so if you can think of anything that's particularly inspiring to you when you work out, please send your suggestions my way.
Here are a few I'm considering so far, with a couple old favorites thrown in.
Sam Bisbee--"Never Fall In Love" mp3 off Son of a Math Teacher (buy) Lately I've been into defiant music.
Manchester Orchestra--"I've Got Friends" mp3 off Mean Everything to Nothing (buy) I also enjoy the occasional angry guitar riff. Very motivational.
Immaculate Machine--"Sound the Alarms" mp3 off High on Jackson Hill (buy) For the past two years, their song "Dear Confessor" has been on almost every riding mix I've made.
Blessed Light--"Great Northern" mp3 off Love Lights the Way (buy) You always need a song or two for gliding down the hills and this one works well.
Teddybears--"Punkrocker (feat. Iggy Pop)" mp3 off Soft Machine (buy) This is an oldie but goodie, coz I'm a punkrocker, yes I am.
