I don't know why, but no matter what kind of exercise I'm doing--riding, ellipticizing, running--it never gets any easier. Especially riding my bike. Each and every time I come back from my ride I feel like I'm going to die. You would think that by now it would be a piece of cake. Well OK, if not a piece of cake then at least not quite as difficult--but it's not!
Looks like I'm in good company, though, as I just found this quote by Greg Lemond who said: "It never gets easier, you just go faster."
Damn!

The only thing that gets easier as we age is getting fat! ;)
Hi, Marcy. I've returned as promised. I always considered exercising to the
brink of exhaustion (though not collapse) an indicator of successful
exertion. While it never gets easier, the personal rewards are frequently
worth the struggle. To quote the Voxtrot song "Easy:"
welcome back! those are very appropriate lyrics for the situation at hand.
i've not ever really listened to voxtrot. maybe i should give them a go.
and be safe when you run in the park!
Will do! And by all means check out Voxtrot's first two EPs. They're
splendid indie pop. Also, Jared Van Fleet from Voxtrot has a side project
called Sparrow House. Gorgeous, unhappy music meant for our lot.
