I'm Getting More and More Excited to See Andrew Bird
I got my tickets to see Andrew Bird last weekend and I'm getting more and more excited to see him each day. I came across these videos via la blogothèque, the film/video-producing group from Paris. As a general rule, they follow a musician around the streets of whatever city they're in while he or she performs. They have two videos of Andrew Bird in Paris doing just that right here. He plays "Spare-Ohs" and "Weather System." You should really check them out. He's a treasure. I wonder how many of the people passing by had any idea who he was? It didn't matter--if you had seen him, you'd have known he was someone very special.

I say in my intro that I don't have a deep or meaningful reason to pick them, but I just thought of one. The contrast podcast is one of the most fun things I've found in the blogosphere, so it's entirely appropriate that I picked what I consider to be an extremely fun group. Whew--I knew there had to be some significance! So check it out here and see what all everybody else picked to share. Plus you get to hear FiL's specially recorded intro that he made when he met up with Tim in London. Next week's theme is "2007 so far," so put your thinking caps on and submit something. It's really fun, did I mention that?

I just saw him last night in Omaha...it was the third time I've seen him
play and the best. He's really in top form. Watch out for the best Why?

water. He's just so charming up on stage!
