If I Were a Musician, I Would Be on the Contrast Podcast Today
Today's contrast podcast is another one of the special "Musicians Introduce Their Own Songs" episodes. You can listen to it or download it here. I think these podcasts are such a great way to get to know more about the people who make the music we love to listen to. I know that if I were in a band and wanted to get my stuff out there, I'd definitely take advantage of the opportunity to be a part of it.
Next week is going to be a really cool episode, too. It's "Poetry," wherein you read a poem as the intro and pick a song to go with it. If you feel poetically inclined, you should give it a go.
You know what I think would be an interesting twist on the concept of musicians introducing their own stuff? The musicians could contribute a song by another artist, much like we the usual contributors do, but it would be cooler coz it came from them. Whaddya think?
On that note, Noel Kelly from the band The Hush Now (recently mentioned here) and I have been corresponding a bit and he recommended these two bands to me, so I thought I'd pass along his suggestions in the spirit of my new idea.
