I bruise like a ripe banana. At least that's what my doctor told me once. Why am I telling you this? Well, today I looked down at my legs and saw three bruises in a line from my knee to my shin. I was like, holy shit, where did those come from? I must have done it while I was at work.
Anyway, I thought it was kind of an apt metaphor for other kinds of bruising that goes on. You know, soul bruising and heart bruising and emotional bruising. Not that I'm such a sensitive soul that I can't deal with truth or reality (whatever they are, but that's for another post), but I do find that when certain things hit me, they tend to leave marks.

I am the same way, and I usually get the bruises on my legs. When I notice
them, I think, "HOW did I get THAT?" I try to make it a point to note any
bumps I make these days, so my family will hear me say, "That's gonna
bruise," so I can remember what happened. Still doesn't work. My memory
is shot. ;)
omg, i'm always saying that when they poke me or punch me (punch me in fun,
that is) and they always call me a wimp! :)
I hardly ever bruise. Because I is tough. Or, possibly, preserved in
alcohol.
perhaps you are what they refer to as a pickled banana? ;-)
I don't think I bruise easily, but I also generally do not run into stuff.
:) Reminds me of a joke: Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a
banana.
