One of my favorite Seattle musicians, Herman Jolly, has formed a band he's calling Little Pieces. He put out a solo album called Bunker Life earlier this year that I loved, and apparently he's reworking some of the songs from it with the band. The other two guys are Grant Badger on bass and Rob Lloyd on drums, both of whom have been playing live with him for a while, so I guess this makes what they've been doing official.
Herman Jolly--"Candy Stairs" mp3 off Bunker Life (buy) You can hear the reworked version on Little Pieces' myspace.
According to their myspace page, the new group is unsigned. I don't suppose they will be for long.
If you live in the Portland, Oregon area, you can catch them Nov. 15th at Dante's.
Wow a Seattle band? I have to comment of course and wax philosophical on
all things Seattle... well at the very least Herman Jolly sounds good.
You know that wall in the background of the photo? I know it personally.
yeah, i hear seattle has an ok music scene . . . ;-) seriously, had you not
heard of him before? he plays around town from time to time. you should
check him out and report back on his show, for the benefit of those of us
who won't be getting out there any time soon to see him for ourselves. : )
That is good news indeed! I look forward to hearing from them. If it is
anything like Jolly's solo work it will be goodness :)
