I'm not a fan of the long-night / short-day. Well, I wouldn't mind the long night if it started later in the day, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I thought I'd make note of the winter solstice, because even though it's the shortest day of the year, it means that every day it will get dark a little bit later, which I find to be its most redeeming feature.

ross and colin--happy, happy christmas to you both. i'm looking forward to
2008, believe it or not, something i wouldn't have said a year ago. :)
here's to blog friends. you mean an awful lot to me as well.
Happy holidays - I'm very tempted to do another 'from the library' post
becuase...du du daaaaaaaaa... I've found a Tahiti song to do a post about
my tahitian visitor for (and it's a song I really, really should have
thought of before) but I think I'll leave it for now. Obcure knowledge
part 2534 - although the daylight hours get longer now, it doesn't actually
start getting light any earlier for a week or so - it just gets darker a
little bit later in the evening. Can't remember why, something obscurely
technical about angles and things, probably. Have a lovely christmas and
new year xx
crash--i think i knew that obscure fact, and i knew someone would call me
out on it! :) happy holidays and all that good stuff to you, too. btw, ever
since i got those three hits from greenland last month, i haven't gotten
any more--i guess i jinxed it!
