I don't know what's wrong with me, but I hesitated to contribute to this week's contrast podcast. It's all about greed, and if there's any of the seven deadly sins I'm definitely guilty of, it's being greedy.
Maybe it hit too close to home. I've sabotaged and/or ruined many, many things over my lifetime by wanting too much or more than I could or should have. It's one of my least admirable qualities.
Thinking about it in a broader sense, I also think greed might be the sin that is at the root of most if not all other evil. If each of us could simply be satisfied with what we've got then we wouldn't do all the horrible, unnecessary things we do in pursuit of "more," whatever that more consists of. For some it's money, others it's power, still others attention, the list goes on and on. So much pain and hurt could be avoided if we could all learn to simply say, That's enough for me, thank you very much.
Anyway, had I sent in a song, I would have picked this one by Swedish musician Bjorn Kleinhenz. If you want to listen to or download the entire podcast, go here.

Next week's episode will be about Mysteries and Conspiracies, so if you think life is all one big mystery that needs to be solved, this is your week to get in.
