Oh dear, the suffering of change. I had a similar thing happen recently to a fave pair of jeans, and it is oddly disconcerting.

Keen trick: next time you find a pair that works, buy two, if not three...

fil, you are so wise and kind. and of course, from now on i shall always buy multiple pairs when i find them. it's just that i didn't know how much i'd love them when i first got them, and when i finally realized how great they really were, it was too late.
