It's come to my attention that not everyone loves indie rock like I do. Can you believe it? It's true, I tell you. There are people who actually still love disco. How can that be? you may ask. Well, I suppose it's mainly for the ease-of-listening it provides, and maybe for that shake-your-booty factor, too. Anyway, hard as it is for me to fathom, turns out these folks can't be bothered with a song in which they have to focus on the words or that doesn't grab them on first go 'round. The thought of putting effort into absorbing a song is enough to make them hit "next" on the cd changer faster than you can say "Sufjan."
That said, well, disco lovers are people too, right? So in order to pay them the respect they deserve, I've decided to put up as much disco/dance music as I can muster (in other words, this is as disco as I get). In fact, consider this my gift to them. But it's just for today, which shall henceforth be known as "
I failed to indie-fy my disco-loving friends" day. And then tomorrow it's back to business as usual, OK? OK. (Oooh, you're so bad--I heard that collective sigh of relief!)
