Contrast Podcast Wraps Its Arms Around Us

posted Tuesday, 31 March 2009

One week after celebrating its third anniversary, the contrast podcast is giving us a virtual hug, as the theme for this episode is "the arms." You can go here to listen to or download it.

Alas, I could not manage to choose a song, so I did not contribute. If I had, I may have picked this song by Halloween, Alaska, because it was the first one that came to mind.

Halloween, Alaska--"All the Arms Around You" mp3 off Halloween, Alaska (buy) I swear I didn't plan this, but Halloween, Alaska's new album, Champagne Downtown, is coming out April 7th.

Next week the theme is kind of weird. It's "eggs." Yep, eggs. I'm hoping an inspiration will hatch sometime between now and next Monday, coz at the moment I haven't got a clue what to pick!

Dearest Marcy, I'm surprised you didn't participate! I thought at the very least youd have picked the track I submitted. Indeed, when i reserved it, I told him that if you (or Agnes) came in asking for it, he should just let me know & I'd have picked something else!!

I'm not doing the eggs one, but I would have picked "I Am The Walrus!" goo goo ga joob. ;)

I am doing the b/o 2009 so far one, though, and I'd better hurry and get it submitted!

Oh, and do you have Andrew Bird's "he Mysterious Production Of Eggs?"

The Goose That Laid THe Golden Egg by Funkadelic. Dirty Old Egg Suckin' DOg by Johnny Cash...my dad used to play that one all the time. White Chocolate Space Egg by Liz Phair...

That's all I can think of.

dear fil--i didn't pick the frightened rabbit because i, too, figured someone else would pick it! but i do so appreciate your willingness to cede your choice had i. : ) truth be told, i had a few songs to pick from but none of them grabbed me (pun intended) and so i couldn't think of an intro! i will definitely be in the best of episode, and i think i've found an egg song contender.

nat--i do have that andrew bird album, but i can't pick from it because that would be too obvious--i can't possibly be obvious!! ;-) the liz phair would be good though--why don't you do that one? or the johnny cash? all of them would be great. i liked that wilco song you picked this week. for whatever reason, i'm not all that familiar with them and that kind of whet my appetite!

Well, I thought up an eggs entry and not one that's been mentioned, whew! And I like your arms selection, I was stumped, hahaha

oooh, that was bad! ;-) i think the eggs one will be fun, with lots of wacky songs. mine will be fun, anyway!

all mp3s are for sampling purposes only. you like it? you buy it. you want me to take it down? let me know. and for the uninitiated, if you wish to listen to a song, click on the little blue arrows and they will stream. thanks, your host and music lover, mjrc.
