The contrast podcast commemorates its 163rd episode by visiting the year 1963 and, sadly, I am not along for the ride. Once again I just couldn't come up with an appropriate song. I'm not sure what's wrong with me these days. Next week the theme is "the skin" and I KNOW I'll be able to contribute to that. If I can't, then you all need to call the doctor for me, because I will have become so feeble-minded that I'll be unable to accomplish even the simplest task at that point . . .
Of course, after the deadline for this week's submissions passed, I thought of something relevant. 1963 is the year JFK was assassinated and I found these two songs to go along with that idea. I also found an intriguing third song and I'm including it simply because I enjoyed it so much. You can enjoy the entire podcast by going here.

The Oaks--"For Hugh Thompson, Who Stood Alone. My Lai Massacre, Vietnam, 1968" mp3 off Our Fathers and the Things They Left Behind (buy)
That has happened to me way too many times, Marcy. I got my "skin" song
already sent in, but I will miss the podcast the week after, so I'm
advancing you the mojo to come up with just the right song for that one.
What letter of the CD swap were you challenged with? Er, are we allowed to
talk about it??? LOL sssh, whisper, I won't tell!
I kind of like fire ants. I know that sounds weird, but they're a marvel of
evolution. There's not that many species that thrive under the influence of
Homo sapiens - good on them.
afm--yes, that is kind of weird, but coming from your scientist's
perspective, it makes sense!
