I don't know about 'Bite the Bag', but I played a game with an Irish boy
once called 'What's in the Old Man's Bag?' It was similiar, although you
did it blind-folded (and yes, this could be the start of a dirty joke but
really isn't although I would haved liked it to be at the time).
yes indeedy that sounds like the start of something dirty . . . he he.
if it's irish, i've never played it. We're usually too busy playing a much
more popular game, "Drink the Drink."
dang, i thought for sure you'd be able to tell me all about it! maybe the
guy who taught it to us was having a bit o' fun with us? ;-)
"Bite the bag" usually involves what starts out as a large brown paper bag.
Because it stands a couple of feet high, the first round of the game is
easy, with everyone able to pick up the bag! After the first round, a strip
of about 2 inches is torn off the top, and round 2 commences! The game goes
on with a strip being torn off after each round, and more people dropping
out of the competition. The really limber folks (the ones who go to yoga
classes regularly!) make it further into the competition. I've seen some
rounds go the point where the bag is only an inch high! Lots of fun, if
you don't put out your back in the process!
