You know how I know I'm feeling better these days? Because not only did I clean the house yesterday, but I actually enjoyed doing it!
Now I know some of you are thinking, Marcy, enjoying housework is usually a sure sign of going crazy, but in my case I have to disagree. See, for let's say, oh, the past three years or so, I've taken very little pleasure in any form of domesticity. Everything seemed like such an effort, even basic housecleaning, let alone decorating or painting or any more-advanced forms of domestic engineering. So for me to not only think, Hey, I should clean the house, but to then actually do it and enjoy it--that's really saying something.
I think you should help me celebrate with a few tunes.
DiskJokke--"Some Signs Are Good" mp3 off Staying In (buy) This is housecleaning music at its finest!
LCD Soundsystem--"Daft Punk Is Playing at My House" mp3 off LCD Soundsystem (buy) A classic. No cleaning should be done without it.
Marshall Price--"Beyond the Pleasure Principle" mp3 off Hear At Last (buy) Where did I find this? It's great!
p.s. Happy Paul Haig Day!
I enjoy most of it, too, with the exception of anything involving the
toilet. LOVE to organize and de-clutter, though.
I'm enjoying it a bit more now that I'm living in a house that I like, but
still...
I just discovered DiskJokke last week on a Smalltown Supersound
compilation. Ace.
nat--do you hire yourself out for the de-cluttering service? ;-) ita agree
about the toilets, tho. yuck!
